Hello all, I am Ankita Nehra and today, I am going to share with you my breast cancer journey. I was happy & was busy handling the responsibilities of my company and of being a single mother. One day morning, I realized that I am having a discharge from my nipples. I randomly took some antibiotics but discharge didn’t stop after it.
I waited for some time thinking that the situation will be fine but it didn’t. Then after a month, my friend suggested to visit a breast doctor. So I went to Dr. Shilpy Dolas, a breast specialist in Pune. She suggested performing a mammogram test in which she detected a 1-cm lesion. Later it was confirmed that I have breast cancer in my biopsy report. Boldly and with a lot of positivity I underwent through minimally invasive surgery and received radiotherapy. Because my tumour was small and detected early, chemotherapy was not given to me in my breast cancer treatment. All through the treatment process, I was fortunate to have the love and support of my child, the co-workers of my company and my doctor through prayers, hugs, cards, and phone calls. Now it’s been 6 years when I passed the disease and living a healthy lifestyle.
I thought as I faced my disease, people should take this as an example and know that such a thing can indeed be done and fight against such deadly disease.
